Col Nalin Herath speaks at Defence and Strategic Dialogue in India

The 3rd Defence and Strategic Dialogue, organized by the Centre for China Analysis and Strategy (CCAS) in collaboration with the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS) and the Centre for Advanced Strategic Studies (CASS) India was held at Sant Dnyaneshwar Hall, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), India recently (18 and 19 Mar).

Col. Nalin Herath, the Overlooking Director General and Acting Director (Research) of Institute of National Security Studies in Sri Lanka and Director Media at the Ministry of Defence addressing the distinguished gathering said that Sri Lanka is aware of India’s security concerns on regional security and geopolitical dynamics. He emphasized on the President’s commitment on continuing the non-aligned foreign policy while ensuring freedom of navigation and that Sri Lanka would not take sides in global power rivalries.

The two-day seminar was inaugurated by the Indian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. An eminent panel of speakers including, Jayadeva Ranade, Nitin Gokhale Air Marshal S S Soman (Retd.), Group Captain Ajey Lele, NC Bipindra, Nitin Gokhale, Dr. Kiran Karnik, Ms. Namrata Hasija, Dr. Alvite Ningthoujam, Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale, Air Vice Marshal Manmohan Bahadur (Retd), Lt. Gen. RP Kalita, Vice Admiral Anup Singhand and Amb. Gautam Bambawale contributed their insights into various topics during the sessions.
