The INSS Military Research Officers Participated Workshop on Structural Planning of the Centre for Strategic Assessment at the KDU

The Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) is delighted to announce the participation of three of its Military Research Officers from the tri-services in a recent workshop on the structural planning of the Centre for Strategic Assessment (CSA) at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). This capacity building program and structural planning initiative were conducted by a team from the U.S. Institute of Security Governance, including esteemed individuals such as Dr. Oscar De Soto, Dr. Barak Salmoni, Mr. Max Kelly, and Mr. Matt Ashley.

The primary objective of establishing the CSA at KDU is to develop a research capability that can provide in-depth analysis on complex strategic security challenges, thereby assisting in the formulation of effective policy solutions for the nation. The CSA aims to bring together analysts from across Sri Lanka, enabling them to collectively assess the spectrum of threats the country faces. This includes analyzing both near-term risks that are unique to the nation, as well as the evolving global and regional threat landscape in the long term.
