The Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) Staff recently had the privilege of attending an insightful event titled "Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in the Current International Context" by Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). The event took place on 1st June 2023, at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies.
During his lecture, Dr. Floyd highlighted the vital importance of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in today's world security landscape. He shed light on the role of the CTBTO, which primarily focuses on gaining universal support for the Treaty and strengthening the CTBT verification regime to ensure its effective implementation upon the Treaty's entry into force.
